The Alumni Banquet is an avenue to reconnect graduates of RSHS yearly with a meal, a dance, and time to spend with friends. We will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the first graduating class of RSHS in 1924 which had 4 graduates. The current graduating class of 2024 will be the 100th graduating class of RSHS.
Fun Fact! The logo (the drawing was done by Vernon Mackie – 1953 graduate. In the logo – the original Rising Sun High School was constructed in 1915 on the current site of the Rising Sun Middle School (289 West Pearl Street Rising Sun, MD) The sketch shown above was originally hand drawn by Vernon Mackey (Class of 1953). In 1997, Vernon gave the RSHS Alumni Association permission to use the electronic image of his hand-drawn sketch as a nostalgic reminder of Rising Sun High School’s roots. Note: students attended school through grade 7 until 1921 when grades 8-11 were added. The class of 1924 had 4 students graduating which was 100 years ago.
